Sevens teams
The six town teams to contest the Canterbury Rugby FootbaU Union’s centennial seven-a-side tournament were found after qcalifying rounds at Rugby Park and Malvern Park yesterday. Three clubs of the 18 invited defaulted and this fneant a reduction from six sections to five. The five section winners were New Brighton, Belfast, Marist, University and Lincoln College. The sixth and final qualfier was found on the points differentials of the remaining 10 teams. The winner was Shirley. The six teams, plus nine from the sub-unions and one from the Queensland side that will be in Christchurch at the time, will contest the tournament at Lancaster Park on June 10, the final day of the centennial celebrations.
