Holiday activities

Events arranged for children during the school holidavs include: Building Centre, Cashel Street: Exhibition of model trains, sail and motorboats, and aeroplanes. Today, 10 a.m. to 9 p m.; tomorrow, 9.30 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. A static town planning display, daily, 9 a.m. to 5 p m.

Ferrymead Historic Park and Transport Museum: 10 a.m. to 4 pan daily, train and tram rides, fire museum, early 20th century village and bakerq, guided tours and displays. Town Hall: Puppet show at 11.30 a.m and 1 P.m. daily. Repertory Theatre; Daniel Boone. Canterbury Children’s Theatre production. Today, 7 p.m.; tomorrow and Sunday, 2 p.m.

Haywrights' City Theatretfe: Animated displays daily. Roof merry-go-round and candy counter open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Robert McDougall Art Gallery: Hunt the detail competition. Y.W.C.A.: Six to nine years, Y.W.C.A., Madras Street; nine to 12 years. Baptist Church Hall, Oxford Terrace; six to 12 years. St Mark’s Church Hall, Main South Road. Activities include educational trips, games, films, competitions. skating and disco dancing.

Y.M.C.A.: Day camps for eight to 13 year olds. Activities include 10-pin bowling, ice skating, boat trips, and hikes Citv Y.M.C.A., Hereford Street, daily enrolment necessary.
