Convention here next year

New Zealand will host the World International Charolais Convention next March. There will be an international show and sale in Hamilton-at Claudelands and the convention in' Christchurch.

International speakers at' the convention will include Dr Bede Morris, from Australia, and Dr D. C. Dalton, of Ruakura. Five hundred cattlemen are expected to attend. At the New Zealand Charolais Cattle Society’s recent annual general

meeting in Nelson two new councillors were elected to replace Messrs M. J. H. Davison, of Culverden, and A. K. Finlayson, of Mossburn, who have retired.

The new councillors are Mr C. J. Cochrane, of Balclutha, who has just recently acquired a large herd of purebred Charolais, and Mr H. C. Miller, of Balclutha, who has been breeding Charolais since the inception of the breed in this country and has also been a leading breeder of Shorthorn cattle.
