N.S.W. girl cornet winner

fA Hamilton, An Australian girl won lie junior B flat comet solo It the Air New Zealand natonal brass band championhips at Hamilton yesterday. Christina Stewart, ot Jlacktown, New South Kales, won the title from 54 Hher under-19 contestants. A Hamilton brother and ister both won national 010 titles. Jane Lawless, iged 16, won the junior E lat hom solo and her irother, David aged 20, won he senior E flat hom solo, loth are in the Hamilton Citizens’ Brass Band. A sixth-form pupil at Vainuiomata College, Craig itewart, aged 16, won the nnior champion of chamions title. Second was Jane awless and third was hristina Stewart. A Dunedin trombonist, ohn Edgecombe, aged 40, f the Otago Savings Bankt Kilda Brass Band, won se champion-of-champions tie. Second place went to tobit Lacey, of the Hawera lunicifkl Band, playing the flat bass.
