Koiro Trelay fit
Special correspondent Awapuni Koiro Trelay served notice that he will be a tough contender for the Gloaming Stakes at Trentham tomorrow when he worked well in soft ground at Awapuni yesterday. He was far too good for the Captain Cook Stakes candidate, London Trader, at the end of their gallop. On the course proper Koiro Trelay ran away from London Trader at the end of 1200 m in Imin 2L5s, the last 600ni in 40.55. Koiro
Trelay has obviously gone ahead in leaps and bounds since winning so well at Woodville last week. London Trader did not work at all well enough though he is often lazy in training. Terex and Lord Hymac covered 1200 m ,in Imin 245, the last 600 m in 425. Terex ran a good race at Woodville and has prospects at Trentham while Lord Hymac will not be r >ot of the 1 Gloaming if he can handle the ground. He ran a sound I race at Woodville and has thrived since.
