Battled on well again last time, 1600 m event at Avondale April 25, behind Vice Regal. 3 6500 WANBIN (21) 58. One of the best winter gallopers not long back from a lay-off. Well beaten 10th last time and likely to need a bit more. A. Tweedie 4 5183 APOSTLE (11) 57.5. Back from middle-distances but quite capable of making a showing this distance. Has the speed to keep up close. 5 1500 RUA MANA (4) 57. Won four starts back, W.F.A. 1.400 m race at Te Arolia, March 23. Not as good since. 6 2640 MONOCLE (24) 56. Unplaced last start in Cuddie Stakes after 4th, 1200 m event at Feildlng. Earlier 2nd was over 1207 m at Wavcrley, April 4. 7 4080 KAUERE LAD (9) 55.5. Capable winter galloper which will be resuming racing after a spell. Siow beginner usually, hard to fancy. S. Autridqe 8 1324 GOLDEN RHAPSODY (16) 55. Racing solidly and had little luck last Saturday, 1400 m at Ellerslie, running on well. Top prospect provided the ground is not too soft. . R. Vance 9 4910 LAVARO (3) 55. Holds good form over more staying courses. May run this distance well enough in first race since early January but more likely to need the run. 10 1100 REKLAW (15) 55. Showed fair middle-distance form last Spring. Back here after a fair spell. Will probably have trouble raising sufficient pace. R. Taylor 11 00 EVANDER (12) 54.5. Fine Winter galloper of last year having third race following a spell. Well beaten so far but could improve fast on softer footing. 12 9603 STEVIE WONDER (2) 54. Turned in promising first-up after spell when 3rd behind Lady Belle over 1200 m at Avondale, April 25. Good winter ground and could be worth following. 13 1288 MANADO (10) 53.5. Has shown plenty of ability but also disappointing at times. Won this course, distance last spring. Resuming here after a spell. 14 6650 FAGAN'S BOY (23) 53. Winner on this course. Always a prospect. W. Jeffcoat 2 SILVER LAD (7) 61. Leading three-year-old which will be resuming raping after unsuccessful trip to U.K 3 8220 AVENGER (10) 57. Backed and beaten over 1400 m at Ellerslie on Saturday after a couple of fine runs over 1200 m at Avondale and Ellerslie. Better placed start this time. 4 1017 ROYAL FENCER (15) 57. A bit hard to follow but very smart and always a chance.

R. Swift 5 4669 SHAMURA (2) 56.5. Smalt and pretty consistent. Fair run last time over 1200 m at Avondale, April 28 after winning 1200 m event at Rotorua, April 14. Good chance from this draw. 6 4714 BAYSHORE (2) 56.5. Promising young stayed. Shouldn’t be far away, R. Verry 7 4230 EXTRA FLASH (17) 56. Failed last time, W.F.A. 1600 m race at Trentham, March 17 after run of good form. 8 8074 KAHAWAI (11) 56. Cap able middle-distance runner at best back from a fair spell. Might sprint well while fresh hut more likely to take a further race or two. 9 0014 SHIFTEASE (5) 56. Turned In fair effort last time at Avondale over 1200 m behind Lady Belle. 10 7553 SMART FELLA (4) 55.5. Form lately more moderate but did weU early last spring and winter. 11 6229 CHIEFY (8) 52.5. Looked good last winter and likely to do well against next few months. This will be first race fololwing a fair spell. Should improve with the run. 12 2330 ROCKY STAR (3) 52.5. This will be first race since January. Will probably be found in need of the run. 13 1080 FASTA ZECAN (23) 52. Latest form not encouraging. 14 4920 DAINTEE DEVIL (20) 51.5. Badly beaten last time, after second to Shiftease, 1200 m at Ellerslie, April 21. Smart but up against it from so wide. If. 8765 DEVANEY (18) 51.5.
