Good trial
PA Auckland Aghios Nikalaos turned in another of his good trials at Takanini yesterday morning in his final workout for Te Rapa tomorrow. All gallops were done wide out on the No. 3 grass, which was soft. Aghios Nikalaos, with his raceday jockey. David Peake, in the saddle, began steadily from the 1200 m peg to run that distance in a" respectable I min 225. He came home strongly over the last 1000 m in Imin 07.45, the final 600 m in 40.65. A race rival, Evander, relished the conditions when working over a round, the 1200 m in Imin 23.85, and final 600 m in 41s.
