Hoping for drying track
Her Greatest, winner of her last four races, might have conditions against her when she attempts to extend that sequence in the first leg of the Amberley T.A.B. double tomorrow. After Her Greatest galloped on a rain-affected No. 6 grass at Riccarton yesterday her South Otago ownertrainer, Mr Cliff McLachlan, said he hoped there would be drying in the Rangiora track before tomorrow’s ■ race. ~
Mr McLachlan said Her Greatest had been placed on a wet track at Ashburton in March, but had done better on firmer ground in the , meantime. Her Greatest was unI beaten in three starts at the Canterbury Jockey Clubs ! Easter meeting. She was (brought back to Riccarton on Wednesday, and yesterday she galloped 1200 m tn Imin 22.8 s. the last 600 in 41 Few gallops could he (timed because of poor vist•bility on a wet morning.
