National woolcraft society

The New Zealand Spinning. Weaving and Woolcrafts Society is made up of over 200 spinning and/or weaving clubs, all over the country. A national newsletter is published three or four times a year, and is sent to many lone members in isolated areas.

The society also publishes a quarterly illustrated journal, "The Web.” Articles and letters, as well as subscriptions can be sent to The Business Manager, P.O. Box 225, Balclutha. Members meet regularly at local functions, and at the society’s annual festivals, which alternate between the North and South Island. A Waikatobased committee organises fashion parades for this the main event of the year. Interested craft people requiring further details of the society’s activities may write to the secretary, Ellen Whitlock, 16 Lincoln Road, Napier.
