Few feel effects
Yesterday’s bus strike appeared to have little effect on most holiday activities in Christchurch.
It is thought the Building Centre’s kitset model display suffered a 15 per cent drop in numbers because of the strike. Yesterday’s attendance was 2000. The centre is
thinking of making the display an annual event. The Savoy theatre reported full houses and was forced to turn away 100 hopeful viewers.
the Y.M.C.A’s day camps were all “very full,” and at the Bryndwr Y.M.C.A. there was a waiting list for this week’s programme.
