Situation: A complex depression over the central Tasman Sea is drifting south-eastwards and an associated frontal zone is moving southwards’ over New Zealand. Forecasts: Canterbury: North-easterly winds becoming fresh, areas of drizzle at first but more general rain!
spreading southwards during the day; cool. Marlborough, Nelson: Winds from the northerly quarter, fresh and gusty in exposed places: rain, improving late in the day; cool. Buller, Westland: Easterlies, fresh in exposed places, rain; cool. Outlook: Showers in Canterbury and on the West Coast; mainly fine in Marlborough and Nelson.
