fdfa

This week brings the start of quite a significant change in National radio for Saturday evenings. From 7.30 to 11 p.m. Graeme Thomson will present “Saturday Scrapbook,” an evening of entertainment based on music and comedy recorded before 1960. Listeners have been invited to send in requests for pre-1960s music and will also have the chance to compile their own programmes by selecting six recordings and giving the

reason for each choice. If a programme is selected, four of the numbers will be introduced and presented by Graeme Thomson. All mail should be addressed to: “Saturday Scrapbook” Radio N.Z., P.O. Box 2092, Wellington. Philip Liner’s popular old-time dance session “Those Were the Days” will also be included in “Saturday Scrapbrook.” The first .of several pro-, grammes adapted from P. G. Wodehouse’s famous

book. “The Inimitable Jeeves,” can be heard at 9 p.m. and there will be a short story at 10.20 p.m. This week it is “A Matter of Energy” by Patricia Marshall, read by Ray Henwood. On most weeks “Saturday Scrapbrook” will feature a special artist. This week the choice is Spike Jones and his City Slickers.
