Polly Porter now on the mend
Special correspondent Invercargill Southland’s star racemare, Polly Porter, is recovering well from an injury which lidelined her in January. However, she will definitely not race again this leason or next season. The Gate Keeper mare is to be given a full 12-months spell to fully recover and her owner-trainer. Mrs Pauline Wright, who is being guided by veterinary opinhn said there would be no sense in training her seriously next Januarv. as there would not be sufficient time to Prepare her for autimn racing. I Mrs Wright recently; extended her breeding inter-i ests with the purchase of the four-year-old ’Regent’s , Tale mare, Map, which is in foal to the Pretendre horse.- - My Friend Paul. Map is out of the Bourbon Prince mare, Datsun, a member of the same family as Rover. Humber, Super Snipe and others.
