Basketball trialists
Twenty-one young basketbailers will assemble in Palmerston North next month to take part in trials to select the New Zealand junior (under 20) team to make an internal tour of the country later in the year. The trials will be held on -May 10 to 13. In addition to the internal tour, the side will meet a touring American team, from Longview, Washington State, in a three-test series in July.

Mason (Hamilton); D ‘Fly (Te Avvamutu).
