Players on maraes
The Maori rugby players p involved in the Prince of j Wales Cup match at Tau-j, ranga, on June 13, will be , accommodated on two maraes. Mr Blazey said that the , move away from traditional hotel accommodation was advocated by the union’s Maori advisory board. He said that the players ; representing the northern
land southern sides would ' stay on separate maraes Maori advisory board members would also stay with them. Both marae! were handy to training fac, ilities and the council had no hesitation in accepting the recommendation. Nominations for the twc Maori sides close on Ma> 31, and the teams will b« announced on June 5, Mi Blazey said.
