Testing of traffic noise
Testing of traffic noise levels will be considered by a Waimairi County Council sub-committee. The use of noise-testing when traffic-flow problems are considered by the council was proposed by Cr M. E. Murray. City residents were now subjected to double the noise levels from heavy traffic they were five years ago, she said, referring "to an article in a recent issue of the “Canterbury Environment Journal.” The council voted to refer the matter to a traffic liaison sub-committee for consideration.
