Job applications
Sir. — J. P. G. Rich gives sound advice to youngsters applying for jobs, but it cuts both ways. Eight weeks ago, two of my teen-age children made written applications, fulfilling all information requested, for positions delivering circulars in several city suburbs. The advertisement stated that all applications would be acknowledged. Some four weeks later, I made a polite inquiry to the same box number, and we are all still waiting for a reply. Is it any wonder that the young of today are uninterested and downhearted when the employers show such lack of courtesy towards applicants for jobs?— Yours, etc,, A. BARRAR. March 30, 1979.
