PA Wellington The world trade fair to be held in the Wellington Show Building in August will be the biggest staged by New Zealand, a spokesman for the Wellington Show Association says. More than 30 countries will be contributing to a comprehensive range of industrial exhibits. The biggest exhibitor will be China, whose court area will take up 930 souare metres (about 10,000 sq. ft). Most of the exhibits will be of an industrial nature, but an extensive range of consumer goods will be on display. These will include crys-
tai, furniture, jewellery and clothes from Scandinavia, hand-knotted carpets, cane-ware and jade from China, textiles and clothes from India and Pakistan. plus electronic gadgets from Japan and Korea. Heavy machines, many of them giving running demonstrations, will cover the outside courts. A special attraction will be an international fashion exposition where garments from many countries will be exhibited by models from those countries. The fair will be open to trade representatives from August 21 to August 23, and to the public thereafter until September 5.
