Egypt out of league
NZPA-Reuter Cairo Egypt yesterday announced it was freezing all its activities in the 22-member Arab League—a move just short of a complete break. A Foreign Ministry announcement in Cairo said: “Egypt announces that it freezes its activities in the league in the face of attempts to suspend the Arab League Charter in the hope that the day will come when wisdom will overcome emotionalism and seriousness will replace irresponsibility.”
