C.I.B. plans branch
The Christchurch police plan to set up a criminal investigation branch to cover the city’s north-west suburbs. Subject to approval by the Commissioner of Police (Mr R. J. Walton), the C.LB. office will be set. up at the Papanui police station, and will cover the Papanui . Bishopdale - Northlands area. A new police establishment was also planned for the Cashmere - Addington Woolston area, said the commander of the Christchurch police district (Deputy Assistant Commissioner G. E. Twentyman) yesterday. Existing C.LB. offices at New Brighton and Hornby had proved very valuable, said Mr Twentvman.
