Car pool success
Two North Beach motorists are saving about $6 a month each in petrol by pooling their cars. “It has worked out extremely well,” said Mr J. A. Stewart, who drives another North Beach man to work at Bromley each day at 8 a.m. and returns at 5 p.m. “I use my car one week and he uses his for two weeks. That is because I take him an extra 2.5 km to work and back each day,” said Mr Stewart. Mr Stewart was commenting on a report in “The Press” yesterday which said that the idea of car pooling had not caught on in Christchurch.
