5c rise?
Within about five weeks the price of petrol will rise about 5c a litre, writes Cedric Mentiplay. Fuel oil and other prices will conform to the petrol adjustment. The rises will be during the last week in April. The change is expected to take the price of premium motor spirit to 36c a litre (or 1.65 a gallon). Another rise may be expected later this year. O.P.E.C. Ministers yesterday decided to advance the price increases due to take effect in the fourth quarter of this year, raising the price of a standard barrel of crude oil to $14.54 from April 1.
