Tax down on trucks
The Cabinet had approved a 10 per cent reduction in sales tax on heavy motor-vehicles, said the Minister of Customs (Mr Templeton) yesterday.
The tax will be reduced from 30 per cent to 20 per cent, from April 1. All heavy transport vehicles, except trailers, will be affected. Mr Templeton said arrangements were being made for the refund of tax paid at the higher rate on new vehicles still owned by retailers on April 1.
