The Christchurch-Lyttelton Road Tunnel Authority meeting for the last time yesterday. At the head of the table is Mr V. G. Spiller, chairman and the only original member of the authority, which was established in 1956. To Mr Spiller's right are Mr F. G. K. Gilchrist, the secretary-treasurer, Mr D. W. Storey, the tunnel superintendent, and Mr L. W. Olliver, the general manager, who was the first maintenance superintendent. All have been with the authority’ since its inception. Others in the photograph are. from Mr Spiller’s left: Mr J. B. Collett, deputy chairman and a member from 1961, Messrs K. M. Baxter, H. P. Smith, M. J. Bourne and W. V. Cowles.
