Restaurant decision
Sir, — May I add my dismay to that of S. Westermann (March 23) at the Planning Commission’s refusal, so far, to allow Mr Losco to open a restaurant in Latimer Square. One can only hope the importance of Mr Losco’s tremendous contribution to the development of at least some variety and quality in Christchurch’s lamentable restaurant scene is taken into account during the appeal. That he has not lost hope after a year and taken his talents to the North Island in the face of such bureaucratic shortsightedness says a lot for the man and the quality and excellence of the restaurant this city has been deprived of for so long. La Dolce Vita should be returned to' its rightful place in this city. — Yours, etc., A. HOLDEN. March 23. 1979.
