New man on Racing Authority
Mr P. F. O’Brien, _of Blenheim, will be the new represenatative of the Owners’ and Breeders’ Association, the Horsemen’s Association and the Standardbred Breeders’ Association on the Racing Authority. He fills the vacancy caused by the death earlier this year of Mr E. G. Mitchell, of Christchurch. Mr O’Brien, an accountant, is a past-president of the Marlborough Trotting Club. He has held a horseman and driving licence for 'l6 years and has enjoyed a fair measure with a small team, most of which are now driven by his son, Graham.
