Fletcher offer remains open
Fletcher Holdings, Ltd, advises that acceptances of the offer for shares in Firth Industries, Ltd, totalled 1,005,459 shares, which together with shares previously held represents 69.88 per cent of the capital of the company. The offer is unconditional in all respects. The date for acceptances to be received has been extended to February 12.
The board of Gear Meat Company, Ltd, has appointed Mr M. E. Groome of Te Onepu, Hastings, as a director of the company to fill a vacancy created by the retirement of Mr G. C. Kent. Mr Groome is chairman of directors of the Hawkes Bay Farmers Meat Company, Ltd.
