Bucketful of woe
"Some of the dogs in this neighbourhood have jewelled collars, some have knitted jackets, some even have custom-made boots,” said Dog yesterday. “But this plastic bucket on my head is just not on.” However, it was. According to the S.P.C.A., there is nothing cruel about putting a bucket over the head of a dog.
It was a common practice when the dog has an eye or face infection, said the vice-president of the society (Mr J. F. Bergman). This prevented the dog from tearing at its face and was only necessary for two days, until the healing process had started and the itch had gone.
