Australian interest

Patrons of some of Australia’s top jumping stables are expected to be active in bidding on several lots at the unreserved dispersal sale of the Chelandry Stud at Taramoa, near Invercargill, tomorrow.

Mr R. Fielder, of Pyne, Gould, Guiness Ltd, has had hundreds of inquiries for catalogues and he believes there will be a strong band of North Islanders in competition with others at the sale.

The sale lots were paraded at the stud yesterday, and there will be another parade today.

Some of the younger entries in the catalogue were sired by Approval, which was bought in Australia for Chelandry and now has New Zealand yearlings. Approval is being represented with outstanding success in Melbourne this season by Salamander.
