Greyhounds decision
The Hornby District Community Council will recommend to the reserves committee of the Paparua County Council that the Smarts Pit (Kyle Park) area not be made available to the Greyhound Breeders, Owners, and Trainers’ Association.
The matter was referred to the community council by the committee last November after a request by the association for use of the area.
However, the council supported making the Carrs Road tip site available to the association. The tip was closed last year and refuse disposal transferred to the Waimairi County’s Johns Road tip.
