Cricket milestones
Last Saturday’s senior cricket was a spectacular day for personal milestones. John Thompson of St Albans passed 100 wicket-keeping dismissals, but there were batsmen too. Geoff Miller (Riccarton) reached 1000 senior
runs, Rod Fulton (Old Collegians) now has more than 2000, John Larter (Sydenham) and John Phillips (Old Collegians) have left 3000 runs behind. The games next Saturday could well provide
two more personal triumphs. John Mackie (Riccarton) is only two short of 100 wicket-keep-ing dismissals, and Bruce Irving (Lancaster Park) needs but one wicket to reach a total of 900 in the senior grade.
