Heroin injection kills asthmatic
PA Auckland The Auckland police have identified the man who apparently died from an overdose of heroin in Remuera early on Monday morning. He was Michael John Willoughby, aged 26, single of Parnell. The police said that on Sunday afternoon he had visited a Remuera flat with heroin in his possession and later injected himself with it. Mr Willoughby, an asthmatic, later became short of breath and lost consciousness.
d About 5 a.m. he began e gasping for breath and his i- companions tried to drive •- him to hospital. But his cona dition deteriorated and a companion called an ambulance from a public telephone , box. Mr Willoughby was taken to hospital, but pronounced . dead on arrival. -j The police said they were 3 not seeking anyone in connection with the death. Detectives investigating the - death later arrested and f charged a young woman with - keeping premises for the purpose of using a narcotic.
