New chief librarian
PA Wellington Mr D. I. Matheson has been appointed chief librarian of the General Assembly Library. He succeeds Mr H. de S. C. Mac Lean, who has been appointed deputy parliamentary librarian at Canberra. Mr Matheson has been on the staff of the General Assembly Library since 1971, first as head of the reference section and then as assistant chief librarian. He was earlier librarian of the Guildhall Library in London and then sub-librar-ian of the City Business Library, London.
