Federated Farmers levy
Sir, — Upon receiving my killing sheet I noted a levy to Federated Farmeis. Io my knowledge farmers have not been asked to sanction this or been told to wnat purpose the levy is to be put. I certainly have not. It seems that Federated Farmers fought to have the meat inspection fee lifted in order that their own levy may apply. A free citizen must have some say in where his money goes and to have a further tax levied without my consent is highly undemocratic and against all New Zealanders’ principles. I would, therefore, ask Federated Farmers on whose authority and for what is this levy being taken. — Yours, etc.,
