P.N.G. bank position

PA Wellington Mr R. L. Knight, the assistant-governor of the Reserve Bank will become deputy-governor of the Bank of Papua New Guinea for two years. The appointment is sponsored by the international Monetary Fund, under its technical assistance programme. Mr Knight will go to Port Moresby early next month.

His overseas experience includes a training period with the I.M.F. in 1963 and a term as executive director of the World Bank, representing Australia, New Zealand and South Africa, from 19701973.
