Auckland post for Chch C.I.B. head
Detective Chief Superintendent E. G. Perry, head of the Christchurch C. 1.8.. has been transferred to a top job in the Auckland police. As head of the Auckland Central division, he will be in charge of 615 uniformed ; and plainclothes police. The total strength of the i Christchurch police district I is 570. February, 1975. ! Mr Perry was awarded the;' > George Medal after an armed j' II offender incident at Whanga-, , rei in 1969. Earlier, in 1965, he earned a commissioner's commendation for his part in capturing three armed criminals who had taken hostages. Mr Perry' will replace Chief Superintendent K. Sykes, who has been appointed deputy commander of the Auckland police district. The post of head of the Christchurch C. 1.8. will be advertised in the Police Gazette. In the meantime, Detective : Chief Inspector E. T. Mitten ■will continue as acting head [of the C. 1.8,
