WELLINGTON HOSPITAL BOARD CHARGE NURSE VACANCIES : WELLINGTON HOSPITAL : WARD 7 —- 30-bed Surgical Ward. Qualifications: R.G.N., R.G. and Ob.N. or R. Comp. N. experienced in General Surgery. Duties: Responsible for management and development of nursing care in this busy mixed surgical ward. Requires a nurse who is interested in developing the team, introducing new ideas of management techniques and is keen to teach. INTENSIVE CARE UNIT Qualifications: R.G.N., R.G. and Ob.N. or R. Comp. N. who has specific Intensive Care Unit experience. Additional Intensive Care Certificate preferred. Duties: Management of 6-bed Intensive Care Unit in this large city hospital. The position requires a nurse who is skilled in intensive care nursing, is interested in teaching and is keen to develop the team to give a high quality of nursing care. CARDIOTHORACIC WARD — 26-bed Ward Qualifications: R.G.N., R.G. and Ob.N. or R. Comp. N. Duties: Responsible for the organisation and management of a busy speciality Cardiothoracic Ward. Requires a nurse with broad nursing experience, particularly in surgical nursing. A post basic certificate in special care nursing would be an advantage. Applicant must also be interested in teaching and in the development of nursing care. CARDIOTHORACIC INTENSIVE CARE UNIT Qualifications: R.G.N., R.G. and Ob.N. or R. Comp. N. with experience in Cardiothoracic nursing and preferably with Post Basic Certificate. Duties; The Charge Nurse will be responsible for management of nursing care in a busy intensive care area, and, in liaison with the Charge Nurse of the Cardiothoracic Ward, for care of patients in their first 24 hours after transfer from intensive care area. An interesting position for a nurse expert in cardiothoracic nursing, and who is able to co-ordinate and teach a team of registered nurses to give effective care. Hours of work: 8 a.m. - 4.30 p.m., rostered days. Salaries for ail position is grade 10 — $9556 - $10,034 plus G.W.O. allowance.
