r , Wellington The Leader of the Opposation (Mr Rowling) says he is not surprised at reports that the Treasury is making recommendations to the Government for a ‘ough new economic package early next year to soften the impact of the gr owmg internal deficit. Mr Rowling, speaking at a news conference yesterday, said the Govemin “hiving off S26IM in its recent 11 per cent loan was taking money away at- a time when it was necessary to restore investment confidence in the businesssector.
To meet the growing internal deficit, which has been put at $1350M, it appeared the Government would push down domestic demand again, which was the opposite of what Labour had proposed, Mr Rowling said.
