Addington market Cattle remain firm; lambs easier

Values for prime cattle closed on a firmer note when the final sale for the year! was held at the Addington Market yesterday. Prime lambs had a very! moderate sale, very few pens reaching $l5. Young' wethers, however, were; fully firm, but ewes, now] that the mutton-ham trade is! coming to a close, eased again. Store stock, both lambs and cattle, was again the strong feature of the market. Both sections drew big galleries of buyers. Markets will resume in the New Year with a sale for prime stock on January 9. and a sale for store stock on January 10. Prime lambs Compared with last week’s sale, there was very little) “sting” in the prime-lamb! market. Store sheep Store lambs were again the centre of interest in the store sheep section, and again met a particularly: strong sale. The offering of [about 3000 head consisted) largely of Corriedales and) ' Border-Romneys, with a

small number of Down-cross [ lambs. A big gallery again fol-; lowed the sale, and the mar- , ket was well up to the good rates of last week.
