Two officers of the Ministry of Transport Marine Division in jChiutchurch, have been appointed administration officers m the South island for the new Harbouis and foreshores section ot the Ministry. They are tile regional marine officer Air J. D. Wiskeri and marine advisory officer i Mr f . Lyons). The} will emorce a grant ot control under the Harbours Act — a delegation of management responsibilities. Most of the foreshores (the; area between high waler and low water' and the close inshoie water aieas within abut 2<iVm, of tiie shore are managed oy the Ministry under the Harhuiirs Act But there has been an hut using trend by local author!'ies io accept a grant of control for the ifoieshores next to their tenitoiy.
