Stocking fillers
Specialists in what children enjoy reading, The Children’s Bookshop, at 210 Colombo Street, Beckenham, has several new publications that should meet with approval. Anne Broughton, Llyween Cooper and Maureen Smith recommend “Snowman” by Raymond Briggs, a picture-book for young readers, and a craft book for 10-year-olds by Sheelagh Laery and Alison Webb called “Fun For Big Kids.” Something very special is “The Enormous Crocodile,” written by Roald Dahl with pictures by Quentin Biake, (what an irresistible combination.) And four little books that are ideal for stocking fillers, the one-dol-lar Golden Press books with such delightful titles as “Just Me and My Dad” and “There’s No Such Thing As A Dragon.”
