A robot fire brigade goes into action at a West German nuclear plant as part of an emergency exercise. The main cooling system was assumed to be out of order at the Neckarwestheim nuclear power station near Stuttgart. West Germany has developed a range of remote controlled devices for dealing with dangerous breakdowns in nuclear plants. There are now more than 200 nuclear power stations round the world.
