General Election
Sir, — The letter from R. Bruce (December 1) seems to me a classic case of very sour grapes. In criticising the effort, of John Srhoy, the Labour candidate for Ashurton, the correspondent makes this extraordinary statement; “No Labour votes would have gone to Social Credit, so no excuses can be offered for such an uninspiring election campaign.” Is your correspondent clairvoyant or aware of the thinking of every potential Labour voter in the Ashburton electorate? Why does not R. Bruce admit that National was thumped in Ashburton, and every other elec* torate? Since 1975, events show how absolutely right Citizens for Rowling were. — Yours, etc.,
M. T. MOORE. December 1, 1978.
