An industrial mediator (Mr T. Groves) will be chairman j for an informal disputescommittee hearing on December 5. between the Christchurch branch of the Tramway Workers’ Union arid the Christchurch Transport! I Board. I The hearing will attempt ! to resolve a dispute over pro-' posed roster changes. The ; branch has given notice of intention to strike unless the; ; dispute is resolved, but the I ! branch secretary (Mr M. D.; Dawson) said'that the union! would abide, by the decision! of a disputes-committee chairman. • The board proposed . the; changes to coincide with cuts' in evening services. A decision on the cuts is expected soon from the Transport Licensing Authority, which heard the board’s application and objection form several parties earlier this month.
