Market remains firm
A dull start was overcome to a small extent in firmer afternoon trading on Australian markets yesterday. The oil sector responded to favourable prospects for petroleum exploration in Australia. Gains were made by Santos, which climbed 8c to 205 c, and Bridge, which also rose 8c to 133 c. Ampol regained 5c to 125 c, and Beach firmed 2c to 62c. ( Coal issues were steadj', except for Utah which eased: 2c to 388 c and Bellambi! which fell 5c to 425 c.
