Wool meets good demand

Wool was in strong demand at the fourth Christchurch sale of the season yesterday for many parts of the world, but prices did not change much compared with the most recent sales in other centres or the last Christchurch sale, at the beginning of last month. However. Merino wools had a much better sale: they frequently topped 250 c per kg and ranged up to 273 c. They, showed the biggest movement of the day and were up to 2| per cent dearer than at the last fine-wool sale, at Dunedin. Down and Down cross wools sold extremely well, topping the market, in again making to 286 c.

The bulk of the fine and coarse fleece wools, how-

The sale price for the j bale of extra-superfine 3Agrade wool, the finest of all lambs wool, was confirmed as a world record by the Dalgety’s and the Australian Wool Corporation.

The record-priced wool will be blended in Japan with angora and cashmere fibres.
