Fresh light for Miller’s
Miller’s, Ltd, is looking at its future in a fresh light after approaches from land agents, according to its chairman (Mr W. N. Scotts). The company’s future had not been resolved at yesterday’s board meeting,
and it was seeking further information, he said. “Every land agent in town” had been on the company’s doorstep after a report in “The Press” yesterday of rumours that the company would stop trading after Christmas.
Mr Scotts said the rumours were “pernicious and pretty damaging.” However, land agents had offered some "very real possibilities” and the board was looking at these. They included buildings of every size, from which Miller’s could continue its retail trading. "There are plenty of buildings potentially available on the market,” said Mr Scotts.
