The amnesty brought in "nothing really interesting,” according to the police, except a disposable rocket launcher used by the New Zealand Army for training. “We have had bigger responses in the past,” a police spokesman said. “This time it was mostly ordinary rifles, plus a few sticks of gelignite, some detonators, and the odd pistol.” “No really old or interesting weapons showed up,” the spokesman said.
