Peake to ride in Hong Kong
NZPA-Reuter Hong Kong Four special invitation races are to be held in Hong Kong with jockeys, including David Peake, of New Zealand, and the Australian, Ron to mark the Hong Kong Jockey Clubs hosting of the Asian Racing Conference. The conference will be at tended by 13 nations and v, ill be held from December 5 to 11. Another Australian jockey, Mat colm Johnston, has been invited to ride against the world’s top jockeys in the Hong Kong Invitation Cup in January. Johnston will be riding against Jean Clu guet, famed for his American Triple Crown triumphs on Seattle Slew, and former British chain pion jockey, Lester Piggot. Attempts to lure the worlds most prolific winner, Willie Shoe maker, to Hong Kong failed But it is hoped the new Britts!' champion, Willie Carson, will b< able to ride if he recovers ii time from a hunting accident
