Apprentice suspended
PA Auckland { A young Te Awamutu apprentice. G. J. Gryils. had a mixed fortune at Ellerslie i yesterday. Gryils won the (opening event on Alrob but ! had to survive a protest ; lodged by the fourth horse, iGimcrack, for alleged inter- ! ference 200 m from the finI tsh. The protest was dismissed. Two races later Gryils was once again in the winner’s stall, this time on Spida, but his elation at having ridden two winners on a day was soon dimmed when he was suspended for four riding days for interfering with Rose of Argyle after 200 m of the 1400 m event.
